MANTI—Over 400 students from Manti Elementary school were invited to participate in a coloring contest to help integrate creativity and imagination into education.

The school divided the contest into two categories and selected two winners from each.

The 1st place winner in the kindergarten through second-grade category was Collin Quayle, second-grade. Madison Cox, first-grade, placed 2nd.

Laynee Pace, third-grade, won first place in the second category covering grades three through five. Ella Clark, fifth-grade, placed second.

The winners received large gift bags filled with coloring books, treats, and other fun Halloween surprises.

Lindel Emporium, Main Street Quality Consignment Gallery and Lindel Book and Gift sponsored the activity.

“It’s nice to settle into a community and participate in a spirit of sharing educational opportunities of fun with children,” said Linda Collins, owner of Lindel Emporium. “We all feel this inspires fun and education through community business.”

You can visit Lindel Emporium to see the colorful Halloween pictures created by the winner since the contest sponsors will post the winning entries in the windows of their shops.

Delbert Morris and Collins say “We thank all those who participated and found it fun to review all their ideas about Halloween coloring.”

Morris and Collins hope to sponsor another contest during the Christmas season.
