EPHRAIM—The men’s basketball team of Snow College scored a revenge win against Colorado Northwestern College (CNCC) last week, while falling to Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), to move to 12-11 overall and 2-5 in league play.

On Thursday, Feb. 1, the Badgers pulled off a 92-73 home victory against the Spartans of CNCC.

In a game that Snow’s coach Rob Nielson called “as focused as we have been in a long time,” the Badgers shot over 50 percent from the field for the game and over 60 percent in the second half.

Nielson said, “We executed and shot the ball well—good team effort to win the game and redeem the game in Rangely.”

Logan Hokanson led the Badgers with 20 points, while Jake Walker went 4-7 from three-point range for 18 points.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, the Badgers faced a tough-defending Bruin squad from SLCC that forced the Badgers into 38-percent shooting from the field and 26-percent shooting from three-point range in the second half of a 73-84 loss.

“They defended us very well and made us take tough shots in the second half,” said Neilson.

Walker led the Badgers with a very efficient 7-10 shooting for 18 points.

The Badgers are on the road this week with games at Utah State University–Eastern today and at Salt Lake Community College on Saturday.
