PAROWAN—In what Assistant Coach Jordan Stewart called “our worst shooting game of the year,” the boys basketball team of Gunnison Valley High School fell to Parowan 42-28 last Friday night, Feb. 2, in Parowan.

Even though the Bulldogs had a bad shooting night, the outcome was still in doubt until the final quarter.

Heading into the fourth quarter, the Rams only held a five-point lead.

But when the shots weren’t falling, the Bulldogs just couldn’t catch up.

“It was our first game of the year without a made three-point basket. I think mentally that really wore us out,” said Stewart.

Stewart added, “You have to credit their pressure defense with some of that, but we missed some shots that we normally make.”

With the loss, Gunnison stands at 4-6 in Region 18, 7-12 overall. The Bulldogs are on track to secure a place in the playoffs. It is now a matter of seeding in the tournament.

Gunnison plays at home for the final two regular season games of the year. The Bulldogs played Beaver yesterday (score unavailable) and then North Sevier tomorrow for the season finale.
