GUNNISON—The Gunnison Valley boys’ basketball team started off the season on the right foot, winning its first two games of the year over the Wayne Badgers, 71-65, and the Utah Military Academy Thunderbirds 83-37.
Senior Parx Bartholomew has quickly established himself as the leader of this team, leading the team in scoring and free-throw attempts. Junior Jackson Hill is also a scoring threat, and sophomore Creed Mogle is showing the ability to get the tough points and rebounds underneath the basket.
With the hot start of non-conference play, the Bulldogs look to get a jump on their season before conference play begins in the New Year.
This week, Gunnison will be hosting Waterford on Thursday Dec. 6 at 5:30 p.m. and American Preparatory Academy on Friday at 6 p.m.
