Bulldogs pull off 13-point upset

GUNNISON—The boys basketball team of Gunnison Valley High began the year with a 13-point win in the bag and a close four-point loss.
On Wednesday, Jan. 3, the Bulldogs traveled to Nephi to face the Wasps of Juab High.
Tied at 14 at the end of the first quarter, the Bulldogs pulled ahead by two at the half, 26-24.
The Wasps were still behind by one at the end of the third quarter but rallied in the fourth to win by four, 45-40.
Wyatt Young had Gunnison’s team-high score with 19 points, three being three-pointers, and he had six rebounds.
In a home game on Friday, Jan. 5, the Bulldogs went up against Kanab.
Tied after the first quarter at 14 points, Gunnison pulled ahead by 10 points at the half and led the rest of the game with a final score of 48-35.
Parx Bartholomew scored 14 points and had five assists. Young also had 14 points and had five rebounds. Isaiah O’Neal had 14 rebounds.
Tomorrow Gunnison plays at Beaver.
