CASTLE DALE—A late comeback, one of the most exciting things to watch in sports, came at the Hawks’ expense last week.
The North Sanpete baseball team fell in the final three innings, 6-5, to Emery on the road last Tuesday prior to the shutdown of spring sports in the Sanpete School Districts.
The Hawks gave up a 5-2 lead at the top of the fifth inning as the Spartans scored all six of their runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. North Sanpete totaled eight hits and shared all five RBIs among five players.
The Hawks scored in the first and third innings to get out to a 3-0 lead before Emery scored two runners in the bottom of the fourth inning.
North Sanpete pitcher Hunter Price finished the contest for the Hawks as pitcher Cameron Price struggled. Price had six hits and four runs against.
The Hawks moved to 1-2, and the season will be suspended until further notice.
