TUSCON, Ariz.—Snow College’s women’s basketball team had two losses and a win in the Bruce Fleck Classic in Tucson, Ariz., followed by a “huge” 69-66 road-trip victory in Idaho.

The Lady Badgers started the three-day tournament in Arizona against Cochise College on Dec. 28 with a 62-51 loss. On Dec. 29 they won Tohono O’Odham Community College 71-34 but suffered another loss on Dec. 30 against Pima Community College, 75-68.

All of Snow’s three opponents are Arizona colleges.

Sophomore Harley Hansen achieved the game high with 12 points.

Battling Tohono O’Odham was an easy 37-point victory for the Lady Badgers, 71-34. This is the fourth time Snow has conquered an opponent by more than 30 points this season.

Sophomore Madison Mooring led the team with 17 points. Hansen followed with 12 points.

Snow College ended the Bruce Fleck Classic with a narrow 68-75 loss against Pima.

The No. 23 Lady Badgers then traveled to No. 22 College of Southern Idaho (CSI) in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday, Jan. 6, and bested CSI by three, 69-66. The Lady Badgers are now 14-4 this season.

Snow College head coach Mike Russell said of the game, “To beat CSI on the road is actually huge.” This was the first victory over CSI in Twin Falls in two years.

He added, “All 10 players who played contributed. It was an awesome game in a great environment.”

Hansen racked up a game-high 17 points and 16 rebounds. Savannah Domgaard and Jazmin Chavez had 10 points each.

The Lady Badgers take on Salt Lake Community College on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Horne Activity Center at Snow College.
