Lady Bulldogs suffer two losses last
week, against Kanab and Waterford

GUNNISON—The Lady Bulldogs of Gunnison Valley High School suffered a four-point loss and a 34-point loss last week.
The girls basketball team played a home game against Kanab on Thursday, Jan. 4, and scored 11 points in the first quarter but petered out slightly in the remaining quarters.
Meanwhile, a hot shot from Kanab put in 21 points herself, and Kanab also hit 10 three-pointers in the game to win 69-35.
For the Lady Bulldogs, Paige King had the team high score with 11 points, and Jaida King scored nine, each with a three-pointer.
Gunnison fared better on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Waterford.
The Lady Bulldogs kept pace the whole game until the end. After one quarter, Gunnison was down by two. At the half, the Lady Bulldogs were up by one, 15-14. Both teams scored nine points in the third, yet Waterford outscored Gunnison by five points in the fourth to win, 37-33.
King again put in 11 points with two threes, and Taryn Thompson scored 10.
Making a significant difference in the outcome of the game, Kanab’s Jaimeson Meyer scored 18 and made 10 steals.
Tonight, Gunnison plays Beaver at home.
