CASTLE DALE—The Manti girl’s soccer team continued to dominate Region 15 with an impressive 7-1 win over Emery last Thursday Sept. 8.

The fact that the Spartans were playing on their home field didn’t help them much, but they were able to keep the game close in the early going.

The first half ended in a 1-1 tie. The second half was a different story. Manti took control of the field and went on a six-goal scoring binge while holding Emery scoreless, giving the Templars the 7-1 win.

The Templars got two goals each from Jamie Bawden, Lexie Alder and Meg Larson. Karli Arnoldson also scored for Manti.

This week, Manti has a pair of home games, starting with Gunnison on Tuesday (Game results not available at press time). The Lady Bulldogs are 4-3-1 on the year with region wins over North Sevier and Grand.

On Thursday Manti will host Grand. The Red Devils have split with Gunnison so far this year.
