MANTI—Still looking for their first Region 15 win of the season, the Lady Templars of Manti High fell to Richfield 49-22 and then to Emery 81-18 last week.
On Tuesday, Jan. 9, the Lady Templars, who otherwise held tough with Richfield through the other two quarters, made only two points in the second quarter and one point in the fourth quarter.
The Lady Templars were led in this game by Avalin Cook with eight points and five rebounds and Amie Squire with seven points and four rebounds.
Against Emery on Thursday, Jan. 11, the Lady Templars were just outmatched, as Emery shot out to a 32-3 first-quarter lead and kept their foot on the gas until the end of the game, winning 81-18.
Kassidy Alder led the way for the Lady Templars with five points and four rebounds.
Although the team has only recorded one win this season, they are not discouraged, according to Coach Roger Watson. He said, “Our team continues to get better. We will continue to work hard each and every day of practice. Our team always has a chance to win no matter who we play.”
This week, the Lady Templars took on South Sevier in Manti on Tuesday and face the Lady Hawks of North Sanpete High tonight in Manti at 7 p.m.
