MANTI – Ready to show their Templar spirit at this year’s Homecoming, students at Manti High School are already dressed up and taking part in the many activities for Homecoming Week, which started Monday, Oct. 3 and will end on Saturday, Oct 9.

A highlight of Homecoming will be the big football game against the Richfield Wildcats on Friday night at 7 p.m. The game will be a white-out game, where all spectators are encouraged to wear white to show their support.
The school is decorated, and students are showing creative ways to dress up. Monday was crazy neon day, Tuesday was twin day, Wednesday is jersey and anything-but-a-backpack day, Thursday will be western day, and Friday is white out.
The school has a full lineup of activites scheduled for the week. A favorite event for the students is the Powder Puff game on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. on the football field. The girls will get their chance at a flag football game, which always has at least one good tackle in there for good measure.
On Friday, Homecoming week reaches the climax of the week with several important activities planned. During first period, there will be the letter lighting. Students will then prepare for the parade at 4 p.m. It will travel down Main Street and be filled with school clubs, teams, and, of course, Templar spirit.
A tailgate party will follow the parade at the softball fields at 5:30 p.m., and there will be a chalk throw at 6:30 p.m. The Templar football game kicks off at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, a semi-formal boys’ choice Homecoming Dance will be held at 8 p.m. in the old gym.
Student Body President of Manti High School Talia Cluff said that she is excited to see the community and school come together this week and show off their Templar spirit.
