BLUFFDALE — On a night when, according to their coach, they “just weren’t able to finish drives out,” the Manti Templars  fell to Summit Academy, 28-0.

Scoring a touchdown in each quarter in a context last Friday, Sept. 15, the Bears were able to be efficient in their drives.  Their first touchdown was scored on a 6-yard run by Tallmadge Brown, and then quarterback Hayden Reynolds threw for three more.

According to Manti Coach Cole Meacham, the Templars were able to move the ball on the Bears, but could not convert those plays into scoring opportunities.

Mecham says the game was relatively clean, few penalties were called, and turnovers were not a major factor in the game, either. The Templars simply ended their drives with punts, not scores.

Manti stands 0-1 in conference play and 2-3 for the season.

The Templars will be at home this week hosting the Juab on Friday at 7 p.m. The Wasps sport a 3-2 record overall and a 1-0 record in conference play.
