Three young ladies will compete for the Miss Moroni  title Friday

MORONI—The 2017 Miss Moroni will be chosen from a trio of young ladies tomorrow night at North Sanpete Middle School.

The pageant, which will be held at 7 p.m., is being run this year by newly-appointed director Karen Burgess.

“We have three talented girls vying for the title this year,” said Burgess.
Contestant No. 1 is Aubree Whitman, daughter of Scott and Heather Whitman. Her platform is “#It CanWait – Don’t Text and Drive.” Aubree is planning on playing a piano solo titled “Phrygian Toccata.”

Contestant No 2, Katie Kjar is the daughter of Daniel and Lindsey Kjar. Her platform is “Let Your Confidence ‘SHINE’ – S – Be Strong, H – Be Happy, I – Make an Impact, N – Be Nice, E – Be Educated.” Katie is planning on performing a Lyrical Dance to “Uncover”.

Contestant No. 3 is Heather Anderson, daughter of Dallen and Kathy Anderson. Her platform is “Age is just a number: Creating Connections.” Her talent will be a piano solo, “Moonlight Fantasy” by Melody Bober.

Entrance fee is $5. Miss Sanpete, Kaytie Nielson, will be the Mistress of Ceremonies and will be joined by Kailee Burgess, Miss Moroni 2016.
