An honor guard from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) fires off a salute at the Fairview City Cemetery. Sanpete County thanked the nation’s veterans in a host of ways on Veterans Day last Thursday, Nov. 11. The American Legion and VFW held tributes in all cemeteries in the county. The Fountain Green Lions Club served dinner to 150 veterans and their spouses. The Ephraim Lions Club put thank you signs on the lawns of veteran homes. Schools held Zoom meetings with veterans or invited them to speak at to assemblies. The entire Gunnison Valley High School student body wore red, white, and blue and had a photo taken with all of them sitting in bleachers in the gym in front of a sign that said, “Thank you veterans.” Photo by Marcy Curtis.
