After a lengthy battle with heart issues, Warren Bruce Gier, age 58, made his final journey and passed away quietly in his apartment in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Nov. 3, 2021.
Warren was born Dec. 15, 1962 in Turlock, California, a son of Herman Virgil and Rose Maria Hultman Gier.
He touched the lives of many people. He was a very giving person who always wanted to help others. It did not matter if it was fixing a car or just being there when someone just needed a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear…he just wanted to help.
Warren had a big heart, but in the end, it was not big enough to sustain him anymore. All those who ever knew him now have a small part of it. He loved his mom and Pops, his brother Jim, as well as his children and grandchildren. He loved his friends, being out of doors, and especially fishing.
He will be missed.
Warren is survived by his children: Misty Parks of California; Jason Mower (Holly) of Wyoming; Brandon Gier (Sonja), Elisha Applewhite (Stevie), and Lucy Mae Gier, all of Salt Lake City; 14 grandchildren; his mother, Rose Maria Gier Mahaffey and Bill Mahaffey “Pops” of Centerfield, Utah; brother: James V and Lori Gier of Modesto, California; numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Herman Virgil Gier, and a brother, Brian L. Gier.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 at noon in the Centerfield LDS Ward Chapel.
Burial with military honors accorded by the United States Navy Honor Guard and the Centerfield American Legion Post #105 will take place at a later date in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
