MT. PLEASANT—The boys basketball team of Wasatch Academy overwhelmed by 49 points the Summit Academy squad last Thursday, Feb. 1, 86-37.
Playing only one game last week allowed Curtis Conde, Wasatch Academy’s coach, extra time to game-plan against Summit.
According to him, it paid off.
He said, “Our guys did a great job following [the plan] in the first and third quarters. In the second quarter, we went away [from our plan], but at halftime we had a conversation and came out with a 33-point offensive outburst” in the third quarter.
The Tigers bested the Bears 14 points in the first quarter, four in the second, 23 in the third and eight in the fourth. Both teams scored only three three-pointers.
Marvin “Tre” Williams III led the Tigers with 20 points for the game.
On Tuesday, the Tigers hosted 5A-power Timpanogos High School (score unavailable). Tomorrow, the Tigers host Davis High at 7 p.m.
