Manti speech and debate team takes region March 5 at Juab High School

      The Manti High speech and debate team took region at their competition on March 5 at Juab High School. The team took champion or co-champion in eight of the ten categories over Juab, North Sanpete, and Delta.

      In foreign extemp, Jannah Abdulkarim and Don Southworth were co-champions, and Darcy Hess placed third.

Brexton Jensen was the champion in national extemp, and Andi Noyes placed third.

In impromptu, Grace Draper was the champion, and in fourth place was David Heslop.

Kira Curtis was the original oratory champion, with Sierra Howell in second place and Lillian Wasden in third.

      The informative champion was Sierra Curtis, with Hallie Williams placing second.

      In the Lincoln Douglas debate, Kennedy Lundeberg was the champion, and Jensen placed second.

      The champion in Congress was David Heslop, and Bob Malone placed fourth.

                Co-champions in policy debate were Bella Knudsen, Trevor Taggart, Hunter Lutes, and Matthew Lunderberg, who also placed second in interps, and Anneke Bahlmann placed third.
