Heritage Day in Spring City— The Friends of Historic Spring City will hold Heritage Day from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Visitors may pick up a guidebook at the Spring City Community Center, 45 S. 100 East. Activities include historic home tours, a silent art auction, free concerts and local art. Home tour tickets are $15 for people 17 and older and $10 for younger visitors. John Denver tribute concert— Skyline Mountain Resort in Fairview will host a John Denver tribute concert during Memorial Day weekend. Food trucks will be available before the show. Tickets are $15 per person and will also be available the night of the event. Tickets may be purchased at account.venmo.com/u/SMR-SportsHaveninternational.

PRCA Xtreme Bulls rodeo— The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association “Take the Oath” Xtreme Bulls rodeo will be held in Manti. Mutton Bustin’ and Rescue Relay Race events begin at 5 p.m. Grand entry and the PRCA Xtreme Bulls competition begin later that evening. For tickets, go to taketheoathmemorial.com.

Mt. Pleasant Paw Fest— The first annual Mt. Pleasant Paw Fest will be held from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant City Park. The dog-friendly community event will include a pet photo booth, a K-9 demonstration with Officer Raife, a dog fun show and activities, local vendors, food trucks and music. Dogs must stay on leashes. Sign up at mpcityut.gov.

Paw Fest Connector 5K— The dog-friendly 5K fun run will begin next to Utah Heritage Credit Union, 590 Horseshoe Mt. Lane. Check-in begins at 8 a.m., and the run starts at 8:30 a.m. Entry is $5. The fun run is open to all ages and abilities. Dogs are welcome but must stay on leashes. Awards will be presented to the top three men and top three women at the park after the race. Participants may run without a dog. Sign up at mpcityut.gov.

Fetch Frenzy Frisbee Competition— The Fetch Frenzy Frisbee Competition will begin at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant City Park during Paw Fest. Entry is $10. The competition will test dogs’ speed, skill and catching power. All dogs are welcome. Sign up at mpcityut.gov.

Monday, June 1
Community Paints Freedom Night— Mt. Pleasant City will host the free America 250 project from 4-6 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant City Park. Participants will paint small canvases inspired by the question, “What do you think of when you think of America?” The canvases will be combined into a large display at Hub City Gallery during June and July. Hot dogs and chips will be served free while supplies last.

Mt. Pleasant community essay contest— Submissions are due for the America 250 Mt. Pleasant community essay contest. The prompt is “What does America mean to you?” Categories are ages 7-10, 11-15 and 16 and older. First-place winners in each category will receive $100. Sign up at mpcityut.gov.

Sunday, June 28
Mt. Pleasant community essay contest— Winners of the America 250 Mt. Pleasant community essay contest will read their essays to the community at Mt. Pleasant City Park.
