Kenadee Hopes wins Miss Moroni 2025 royalty pageant

MORONI—The 2025 Miss Moroni and Little Miss Moroni royalty were crowned last Saturday night during a pageant at North Sanpete Middle School.
After a talent performance and evening-gown walk, the judges crowned Kenadee Hopes as Miss Moroni and Angela Vasquez and Kynnedy Cartright as attendants.
Isabella Figueroa was crowned Little Miss Moroni, and Aribella Cartright and Kaelynn Patino were crowned Little Miss attendants.
For the talent portion of the event, Hopes performed a dance routine. Vasquez recited a poem titled, “We Are of a Tribe,” by Alberto Rios, and Cartright gave a presentation and showed a slideshow detailing her involvement and passion for the sport of wrestling.
Dance routines were the most popular talent for the Little Miss competition, but the crowd was also treated to a patriotic performance of the national anthem, sung by Kambrie Russell.
For her 2025 reign, Hopes’ service platform is titled “Choosing You,” dedicated to suicide prevention and mental health awareness. Hopes is the daughter of Boedee and Patti Jo Hopes, and Erin and Benjamin Maier.
For her service platform, Little Miss Moroni Isabella Figueroa, daughter of Guadalupe Ornelas and Manual Figueroa, will encourage children to stay active through biking.
Prior to the crowning of the queens and attendants, Miss Moroni 2024, Brooklyn Larson, and Little Miss Moroni 2024, Kaitlyn Taylor, each made her final walk, gave a talent performance and reflected on her reign.
Larson performed a piano solo, and Taylor performed a cheerleading dance routine. Both queens expressed joy and gratitude at serving the community during their reign. Larson said “it takes many people to make the community great,” and thanked all the volunteers who help out at many community events.
