Erma Lucile Conover

Erma Lucile Conover, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on Feb. 11, 2026, at her home in Sterling, Utah surrounded by her loving family. Born on March 21, 1930, in Murray, Utah, she was the beloved sixth child of Robert LeRoy and Elizabeth Ann Hofeling Caldwell and lived a life rich with love and family.
Erma was married to her sweetheart, Peter Wilson Conover, on June 1, 1948, in Murray, Utah. Their union was one built on love and companionship. On Aug. 23, 2005, Erma and Pete were sealed for eternity in the Manti Utah Temple. Erma’s life was full and joyful, and she was especially proud of her family, which includes her children: Robert Paul Conover, Kevin Pete Conover, Kristie Irene Southerland, and Leslie Dawn (Bill) White, all of Sterling. She is further survived by her daughter-in-law, Debbie Conover; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Throughout her life, Erma was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served her community and loved those around her with an open heart. Her passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her family and friends, yet her spirit and teachings will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Erma was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, in October 2003, parents; son, Robert; and her son-in-law, Otis Southerland.
Funeral services for Erma will be held on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026, at noon in the Sterling Ward Chapel, 20 S Main St, Sterling. Viewing will be held prior to services at the church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Sterling Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
