Audra Marie Davis Mortensen

Our kind, loving, beautiful daughter, granddaughter, sister, wife, mother niece, cousin, aunt, friend and neighbor Audra Marie Davis Mortensen, 43, passed away peacefully in her home in Salem, Utah, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
She courageously and valiantly battled cancer for three years. She’s our Wonder Woman and our Warrior Princess!
Audra was born April 22, 1982, in Gunnison, Utah to Bill and Laurie Davis. She grew up in Centerfield and attended the old elementary school and seventh and eighth grades in the Gunnison Valley High School, there was no middle school at that time.
She was always a good student. She loved to learn and she loved her teachers, friends and classmates. She was an honor roll student and belonged to the honor society. She participated in the Speech and Debate Team in high school and was on the drill team in her freshman year, and was a cheerleader during her sophomore, junior and senior years.
She loved to dance and was enrolled in dance classes from kindergarten through college. She tried all kinds of dance: tap, jazz, hip hop, ballet, western swing and clogging. Being in the drill team and cheerleading allowed her to dance even more. It was always fun to watch the grace and athleticism of the teams during the year and during competitions.
The dance she loved most was clogging. She was enrolled in clogging from first grade through college. She was a member of that elite class of cloggers in high school through Dance Works Studio, which would perform the finale dance routine and bring the house down during the Spring recitals. She was so fun to watch.
Audra was a class of 2000 graduate from Gunnison Valley High School and LDS Seminary. She was a Class of 2002 graduate from Snow College and LDS Institute. She graduated with her associate degree of science and was a 2004 graduate from Utah Valley University with an associate of applied science degree with an emphasis in graphic design.
Audra worked at Utah Valley University as a financial aid counselor from August 2002 to July 2008. She worked at Ameritech College as a financial aid advisor from January 2011 to February 2013, and at Western Governors University as a financial aid compliance and work study coordinator from February 2013 to March 2025. It was while working at WGU that she was able to work from home.
She married David Mortensen on May 29, 2004 in the Manti Utah LDS Temple and together they have five children. They built their home in Salem, Utah where she created a lovely, warm, orderly home for her family. She loved to cook and made many delicious meals for birthday and holiday parties. She loved teaching her children how to cook and taught them many household skills. She became quite the seamstress and made pretty quilts, pillowcases, purses, and a variety of items.
Audra loved to go camping in the mountains with her family and often prepared camping T-shirts, fun crafts for the kids, and scrumptious meals for Camp Davis. She taught her children many camping skills.
She loved getting together with her sister to do crafts and they created beautiful craft items they gave away as gifts and decorated their homes with the crafts they made. They had a lot of fun and loved to decorate her home, especially for all holidays.
She knew her most important jobs were those of wife and mother, which she took seriously. She was a wonderful wife and loving mother. She loved to have fun with her kids at home and on outings. She loved spending time with her kids and all the talking, sharing and laughing they did together. She was always preparing her children for life.
Audra loved her church and ward, and she served in Primary, on activity days and in the Relief Society. She had a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was so grateful for her testimony while fighting cancer.
The family will miss all the get-togethers with her, the good food, playing games, talking, laughing and her great personality. We will miss her fun goodie bags for every party. We will miss her sense of humor, intelligence, smile, laugh, love, generosity and her sass. The world is a sadder, lonelier place without her and we will miss her terribly. We are heartbroken forever.
She is survived by her husband, David Mortensen of Salem, Utah and her children: son Asher and four daughters; Everly, Brielle, Kaia and Sadie. Also, her parents Bill and Laurie Davis of Centerfield; her brothers Jeremy (Marissa) Davis of Payson, Utah, Aaron (Lacy) Davis of Nephi, Utah, her sister Heather (Tanner) Mieure of Orem, Utah.
