Wellspring Christian Community to host Passover Seder, Easter worship services
MT. PLEASANT—The Wellspring Christian Community will host a series of events in early April to mark the Easter season, offering opportunities for worship, reflection and community gathering centered on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The observance will begin Thursday, April 2, with a Passover Seder meal at 6 p.m. in the Upper Room at The Coffee Depot, 845 S. U.S. Highway 89.
The Seder is modeled after the traditional meal shared by Jesus and his disciples the night before his crucifixion and is intended to guide participants through the historical Passover story while drawing connections to Christian beliefs about Christ’s atonement.
Organizers said the event highlights how elements of the Passover meal foreshadow the sacrifice of Jesus and the establishment of communion.
Seating is limited, and those interested in attending are asked to RSVP in advance.
The celebration will continue Sunday, April 5, with a Resurrection Celebration worship service at 10 a.m. at the Wasatch Academy Music Conservatory, located in the historic church building at 100 S. 100 West.
The service will include music and the traditional “flowering of the cross,” in which attendees place flowers on a wooden cross as a symbol of new life and the resurrection.
A fellowship brunch will follow the service.
Both events are open to the public, and organizers encourage community members to attend and participate in the observances.
