GV seniors plan spooky social for October 19

GUNNISON—The Gunnison Valley senior citizens say it’s time to get out your jack-O-lanterns and Halloween candy.

The seniors had a nice turnout last month for the annual fall breakfast. The October potluck will consist of a variety of soups, bread sticks and salads. The remainder of the meal will be your potluck dessert. Circle your calendar for next Monday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m. at the Gunnison City Hall in the Senior Citizen Center.

Bring your own dishes, a soup bowl and a potluck dessert if possible. Also, are welcome to wear your favorite Halloween costume if you want.

Come to the center Monday through Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for a noon meal. Menus for the month may be picked up at the center. It would be helpful if you call the center that morning by 9 a.m. 528-3781 to reserve your meal.

The senior bus continues to go to Richfield twice a month to Walmart for shopping or doctor visits. To join them, call the senior center.

There is quilting on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Anyone who loves to quilt can come join us. If you have a quilt you’d like quilted, we can help you. Call the center at 538-3701.

Baby quilts and queen-size quilts are on display for sale for weddings, birthdays, or baby blessings.

A huge “thank you” to everyone that stays after the dinner to help clean up, putting the tables and chairs away. The center appreciates your attendance and help.
