CentraCom CEO Brad Welch named to national broadband association board
FAIRVIEW—Brad Welch, CEO and general manager of Fairview-based CentraCom, has been named to the board of directors of USTelecom, a national trade association representing broadband and telecommunications providers.

USTelecom announced the appointment Oct. 23, placing Welch among industry leaders who help guide the association’s work on broadband policy, network investment and expanding Internet access across the country.
Welch brings experience representing a regional telecommunications company that serves rural communities. His appointment gives CentraCom a voice on the national board as the association addresses issues affecting broadband deployment and connectivity.
Welch also serves as vice chairman of USTelecom’s Leadership Committee, which represents local and regional broadband providers. The association announced his reelection to that position along with the new board appointment.
Welch joined CentraCom in 1998 and worked his way through several positions before becoming president and CEO earlier this year.
Headquartered in Fairview, CentraCom traces its origins to 1903, when Central Utah Telephone began operating as a rural telephone company. Today, CentraCom provides Internet, telephone and television services throughout portions of Utah and operates an extensive statewide fiber-optic network.
USTelecom represents broadband providers and related technology companies, advocating for policies affecting communications infrastructure and connectivity nationwide.
