Ben’s life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were lucky enough to know him understand that his existence and the imprint he left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time he was here.

Benjamin Keoni Mayfield was born Jan. 29, 1979 in Maui, Hawaii to John Mayfield and Gayla Gray. Ben passed away Oct. 30, 2021 in Ephraim.

Ben was a master wood carver, guitar player, and treasure hunter. He truly reveled in all things meticulous and difficult. He had mind boggling musical and artistic talent. Ben loved nothing more than to spend time making music and laughs with his friends.

Everyone who knew Ben knew that he was a kind and genuine person that loved his friends and family very much. He is survived by his parents Gayla and Bruce Burnham and John and Aetna Mayfield, his brothers Morgan (Ashley), Gabe (Taralee), nephews Damon, Johnathon and Drake, Nieces Olivia and Ella and many friends that he considered family, also survived by his girlfriend Brenda who took great care of him and was by his side until the end.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring.
