Five contestants will compete for the Miss Gunnison Valley 2026 crown this Saturday





GUNNISON — Five contestants will compete for the Miss Gunnison Valley 2026 title on Saturday at the Gunnison Valley High School auditorium.
Tenley Wanner, Miss Gunnison Valley 2025, will pass on her title during the scholarship pageant, which begins at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Pageant director Marlo Taylor said the event will give the contestants a chance to show the work they have put into the competition.
“Come support these incredible young women as they take the stage and showcase their talents and hard work,” Taylor said.
Contestants include Paisley Pierce of Gunnison, Kaydence Barclay of Mayfield, Seely Peterson of Mayfield, Bryler Blackburn of Axtell and Allyson Taylor of Gunnison.
Pierce, the daughter of Lee and Natalie Pierce, is a junior at Gunnison Valley High School. She will perform a pom dance to “Umbrella” and is representing the community service initiative “Strong Minds, Safe Hearts.”
Barclay, the daughter of John and Markell Barclay, is a senior at Gunnison Valley High School. She will sing “All I Want” and is representing the initiative “Healing Through Harmony.”
Peterson, the daughter of Aaron and Megan Peterson, is a junior at Gunnison Valley High School. She will perform a jazz dance to “Pon de Replay” and is representing the initiative “Celebrate Sameness.”
Blackburn, the daughter of Brooke Blackburn and Tyler Blackburn, is a senior at Gunnison Valley High School. She will perform “Piano Man meets Rachmaninoff” on piano with harmonica and is representing the initiative “Play More Screen Less.”
Allyson Taylor, the daughter of Jeremy and Marlo Taylor, is a senior at Gunnison Valley High School. She will perform a jazz dance to a Beyoncé remix and is representing the initiative “Gunnison Valley Hometown Heroes.”
Tickets will be available at the door the night of the event or in advance through any of the contestants. Admission is $10. Children 4 and under will be admitted free. Organizers will accept cash, check and Venmo.
Taylor said she is encouraging the community to attend and support the contestants. “We can’t wait to see you there,” she said.
