Fundraiser planned for victims of Fairview fire
FAIRVIEW—A firefighter who helped fight a house fire in Fairview last month is rallying the community for a fundraising event on March 18 at Peterson Dance Hall.
The event, called the Music Blitz Live Show, aims to help the Emily and Joel Johnson and their four children recover after losing their home, belongings and animals to a Valentine’s Day blaze.
“I was there on Valentine’s Day 2025 and saw the Johnson home consumed by the fire,” said Christopher Stapleton, a volunteer with the Moroni Fire Department. “Along with another firefighter, I offered a prayer with the family and asked the Lord to comfort them. I felt like I needed to do more.”
Stapleton is teaming with local organizers, including Tim Bingham of Fairview, to host the Music Blitz Live Show. The fundraiser is set for 7-9 p.m.
Live music will be provided by several performers, including Rob Pemberton, DJ Cold White Fire, Fat in the Fire and Junction 89.
A raffle, prizes, a dance floor spotlight featuring the Snow College Dance Team with Robert Cox, and food from RJ BBQ are also planned.
Event organizers say every donation and ticket sale will go directly to helping the Johnson family rebuild. Those unable to attend can still donate at https://johnsonfamily.carrd.com.
“We can make a difference and show the Johnson family they’re not alone,” Stapleton said.
Local businesses interested in sponsoring the event can choose from three tiers. Bronze sponsors receive group slide recognition on a big screen, silver sponsors get a dedicated ad on screen and gold sponsors get extended screen time and an animated short. Organizers hope to raise at least $10,000.
The sponsorship RSVP deadline is March 11.
“Together, we can show this family—and each other—that we stand united,” Stapleton said.
