Gunnison seniors gear up for monthly dinner social

GUNNISON—Gunnison senior citizens are gearing up for their next social on Monday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. in at the Gunnison City Hall.

On the menu will be chicken fried steak; potatoes and gravy; a vegetable and rolls. Desserts will be brought in by seniors who attend.

“We appreciated those who came out last month for our fancy taco salads,” says board member Joie Roberts. “So so very good and exciting with the numerous toppings.” Bingo was played, resulting in five winners (see accompanying photo).

Josie says, “Be sure and come out for some fun food and entertainment next Monday. Bring your dishes, your potluck and a friend. A donation of $3 is always appreciated to help with the main meal, but don’t let that keep you from coming.”

The quilting room at the senior center continues to stay busy with members working on beautiful queen-size and baby quilts. There are usually some on hand for sale, with proceeds going to the senior center to help run the program.

If you need a quilt or would like to have one quilted, call Kathy Brown at 851-3016 or the center at 528-3781.

“We are so excited to see you all next week!,” Josie says.
