Across the Board

      Happy Presidents Day! All schools listed (including Ephraim, Moroni, and Spring City Elementary Schools) will not be having school on Monday, Feb. 21 as celebration for the holiday.

Gunnison Valley Elementary School

      Parent Teacher Conference will be taking place on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 8 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. The conferences will be held by appointment only. The appointments are open for scheduling now. There will be no school during the Parent Teacher Conferences.

Fountain Green Elementary School

      Fountain Green Elementary School will be having a Literacy Night on Thursday, Feb. 24. The school will be sending out fliers for more information as the date gets closer.

Mt. Pleasant Elementary School

      Tuesday, Feb. 22 to Friday, Feb. 25 will be College and Career Awareness Week for Mt. Pleasant Elementary School. A Career Fair will take place on Wednesday Feb. 23. Each class is looking for a parent to come and visit the classrooms to talk about their career. If you would be willing to share with our students, please contact your child’s teacher.

      On Thursday Feb. 24, the 4th and 6th graders will be at North Sanpete High School to attend their school play.

Manti Elementary School

      On Thursday, Feb. 24, Manti Elementary School will be having teacher training. School will be dismissed at noon.

North Sanpete Middle School

      The North Sanpete Middle School will be taking a maximum of 50 students on a Snowboarding Trip on Friday, Feb. 25. The first 50 that sign up and are eligible to go will be taken on the trip. The middle school will be doing a grade and attendance check. Students must have a C or above in all of their classes, and no more than four excused absences to qualify for the trip.

Gunnison Valley Middle School

      Gunnison Valley Middle School will be having Parent Teacher Conference on Tuesday. Feb. 22 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. There will be no school this day for the conferences to take place.

      White Ribbon Week will be taking place Wednesday Feb. 23 – Friday, Feb. 25 to encourage students to consider their online choices.

Gunnison Valley High School

      Parent teacher conference for Gunnison Valley High School will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 22 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. Parents can come in at any time, no appointment necessary. There will also be no school for the conferences.

      Gunnison Valley High School Drill will be having a Spring Show on Wednesday, Feb. 23 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. The Spring Show will be a review of all their performances for the year.

      The Future Farmers of America club (FFA) will be participating in the FFA Northern Utah Invitational on Thursday Feb. 24.

      Prom decorating begins on Friday, Feb. 25 and continues through the weekend and following week until Friday, March 4.

Manti High School

      Manti High School White Ribbon Week is Tuesday, Feb. 22 until Friday, Feb. 25. White Ribbon Week is an encouragement for students to consider their online choices.

      Manti High School encourages students to be cautious with what they view and play online. Be real on social media. Show kindness and respect to everyone – #nofakenews.

      What is your digital footprint? Put your phone down and have a conversation with your family and friends!

North Sanpete High School

      North Sanpete High School students will be putting on a musical performance of the Hunchback of Notre Dame Feb. 23 – Feb 26. at 7 p.m. with a Saturday, Feb. 26 Matinee at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for a reserved seat. More information is provided, and tickets can be purchased on their North Sanpete High School Drama website, nshdrama.com.

Ephraim Middle School

Spelling bee contest winner Alistair Wasden holds his Spelling Bee trophy after participating in the spelling bee contest hosted by Ephraim Middle School on Friday, Feb. 4. He will be moving on to the state competition.

      Ephraim Middle School held a spelling bee for their students, starting with a preliminary round for each grade. Last Friday, Feb. 4, the finalists from each grade participated in a final spelling bee round to determine who the winner would be. Alistair Wasden ended up winning the competition against 22 other students. He received a gold-painted medal, adorned with a bee for his achievement. Wasden will be competing at the State level next.

Fairview Elementary School

      The 4th and 6th graders will be attending the North Sanpete High School play at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 22.

Paige Ison, the Visual Arts Sterling Scholar for North Sanpete High School, visited the 6th grade classes at Fairview Elementary School on Friday, February 11.  She used art to demonstrate how people are connected, and how we can use these connections to build friendships with others. 

Spring City Elementary School

The group Stand 4 Kind came to Spring City Elementary School to put on a kindness assembly on Thursday, Feb. 10. They were able to grab the attention of the audience with BMX stunt riding and a couple of magic tricks. The group talked to the students and stressed the importance of always being kind. The group also stressed the importance of being intentionally kind.  In other words, thinking and planning; finding kind things to say and do for others.
