Kaitlyn Cox, age 16, passed away peacefully with her loving parents by her side on April 20, 2022 at Utah Valley Hospital, due to illness.

Kaitlyn Cox

She was born on Nov. 17, 2005 in Provo, Utah, to Michael and Brittanie Cox of Manti. Known as their “miracle girl,” Kaitlyn had a rare genetic disorder called Adams-Oliver Syndrome, Type 2. From the minute she entered this life, she always had a special spirit you could feel emanate from her. Anyone who met Kaitlyn could not help but love her.

Although Kaitlyn was born with multiple physical and mental disabilities, she still found a way to share joy and love. She was a rare gem and an angel girl who taught those around her what was important in life without saying a word.

Her favorite things were music, pianos, ladybugs, chocolate and ice cream. She enjoyed spending time with family, riding horses and four-wheelers, swimming, playing games, and going to Primary and Young Women’s. She loved riding the bus and spending time at school.

Kaitlyn could light up a room and brighten your day with her sweet smile, infectious giggle and joyful squeal. Her family feels blessed to have had such a sweet, perfect spirit in their home. Kaitlyn was the oldest of six children, with five younger siblings: Grant, Jacob, Joseph, Hannah and Mikelle. Kaitlyn was the best big sister and always loved holding babies.

Kaitlyn is survived by her parents; siblings; grandparents: Doug and Joyce Cox of Manti and Neal and LaRaine Kellett of Moroni; aunts; uncles; cousins; family and friends.

Her parents would like to thank the many incredible people who were Kaitlyn’s helpers throughout the years, including teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, doctors, nurses, specialists, and those who helped at school and in their home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Manti 8th Ward (Red Church), where friends may call Friday evening from 6-7 p.m. or Saturday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery.

Live streaming of the services and online guestbook can be found at www.maglebymortuary.com under Kaitlyn’s obituary.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
