
Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Karen Wennerstrom Jensen, age 79, passed away Feb. 12, 2021 at her home in Centerfield, surrounded by her family.
She was born Feb. 25, 1941 in Sandy, a daughter of William Roy and Mearle Marie Smith Wennerstrom.
She graduated from Jordan High School, Class of 1959. Karen married the love of her life, Ivan Mardell “Mardy” Jensen May 23, 1960 in Murray.
Karen is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as Primary President and in the Relief Society Presidency. She served for six years as a temple ordinance worker in the Manti Temple.
She also served as Editor and Publisher of Buchanan Clan Banner Society International for 10 years and was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She was known as the video lady that owned and operated Action Video in Gunnison for many years.
She collected elephant figurines, coca cola memorabilia, rocks, fossils and crystals. She enjoyed making quilts and Ming Tree creations along with many other craft items.
She will be greatly missed. There will never be another you, we love you, Karen.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Mardy Jensen of Centerfield; children: Kyra Lyne Jensen of Centerfield; Michael “Mike” and Annette Jensen, Andrew “Andy” and Christy Jensen, all of Salt Lake City; Kathrine “Kathy” and Rick Lynn of Texas; Christopher “Beau” and Millie Jensen of Richfield; 27 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Jean Sadler of West Valley City; Donna Cardwell of Midvale, Deanna and Joe Anderson of South Jordan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; nine siblings and a daughter, Teri Rae Jensen.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Old Rock Church in Centerfield at 11 a.m. under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
