Making Life Work – Dec 15

Everything starts with trust; it shows whether or not you’re reliable. It’s the way people perceive you, but the hard thing about trust is that you first have to trust yourself in order for you to trust others. You have to give trust to receive it; it’s hard to trust when people have broken your trust, but you can relearn how to trust others.

Get out of your head and listen to your gut; trust yourself in the decisions you make; don’t let others tell you what is wrong and what is right. If you have to talk yourself through the decisions you make, do that instead of letting everyone else make your decision for you. You might not always make the best decision. You might make a mistake by making a bad decision. But you learn from your mistakes, so there is no sense in beating yourself up. Forgive yourself for the mistakes you make.

Be honest with yourself, no matter what people say. Trusting yourself means being able to do things and not judging yourself too harshly. Always be kind to yourself because when you love yourself unconditionally, you can trust yourself unconditionally. Be yourself; don’t be someone you’re not because that is acting fake and it’s going to make people trust you less since they don’t know the true you.

If you want to be trusted, be honest with those around you. No matter what, admit your mistakes and what you have done wrong. Caring for people and helping people builds your trust because you are showing them that they can trust you when they need help with something. Expressing your feelings instead of acting on them will help people trust you. However, trust isn’t just given, it’s earned, and you can earn trust by being loyal and kind to those around you.
