EPHRAIM — Local students recently competed at the Central Regional Snow College Science Olympiad Competition, winning many awards and qualifying for the State competition to be held at the University of Utah.
The Science Olympiad is a nation-wide competition aimed at exposing students to rigorous, standards-based challenges, scientists and career choices, while energizing classroom teachers with a dynamic content experience. The top winners at Snow College can go on to compete at the University of Utah state competition, and from there can go on to the national competition.
Ephraim Middle School brought a total of 36 students to the competition, and won 46 medals and placed second out of 9 teams.
Manti High School competed in the high school division, and medaled 12 times. All Manti High teams were coached by Chemistry teacher Jared Eliason.
