Manti theater presents ‘Matilda’ this weekend

Manti High School will present the musical “Matilda” Nov. 18-20, 22 at 7 p.m. at the high school with a matinee Saturday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $6 for ages 12 and up and $4 for children ages 6-11.

Directed by Kory Howard, the light-hearted play is about Matilda, a precocious 5-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis, who loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school, and helps her teacher to reclaim her life.

Main characters are Matilda, played by Kailee Schiffman; Miss Honey played by Clarissa Knapp; Trunchbull played by Kate Stevens; the Wormwood family played by Talia Cluff as Mrs. Wormwood; J. Wales as Mr. Wormwood; Hunter Hughes as Michael Wormwood; Bruce played by Nathan Adams and Lavender played by Linda Andreasen.
