Maxine Garbe Stevenson Shepherd (93), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend return to her Father in Heaven on July 29, 2021.

Maxine was born on April 22, 1928 in Manti, to Frank and Blanche Garbe the second of three children, with older brother, Hal, (deceased) and younger brother, Doug.  She was raised in Manti and graduated from Manti High School and received her associates degree from Snow College.

Maxine married her sweetheart Max Leon Stevenson June 1, 1948.  Together they were blessed with five children: Susan, Ron (Freddie Ann), Gary (Becky), Sandra and Robert (Jody).  Maxine and Max enjoyed 17 wonderful years together and were sealed as an eternal family in the Manti Temple July 7, 1964.

Max preceded her in death on March 13, 1966.  She later married Mont Shepherd in 1974 and added Mont’s three children to the family, NaLana, Terri and Jacob.

Maxine worked and retired from her career in the Financial Aid Department at Snow College.  Maxine was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many church callings. Living the gospel and sharing her testimony, with her family, was an example for all of her posterity.

Maxine and Mont especially enjoyed their 11 years as ordinance workers in the Manti Temple.

Maxine enjoyed many years of quilting and Supper Club with dear friends. She loved gardening and growing flowers, spending time outdoors, camping and golfing. Her greatest joy and love in her life was her family and took great pride in each and every one of them.
