SALT LAKE CITY—Miss Sanpete County Ashtyn Childs was the non-finalist interview winner at the Miss Utah Scholarship Pageant on Saturday, June 11 at Capitol Theatre in Salt Lake City.

Ashtyn tied with her Miss Utah Pageant roommate, Miss Timpanogos, Gentry Rose. Both young women received $200 scholarships.
There were 42 candidates, with 12 finalists, making Ashtyn the top interviewer out of 30 contestants.
“We are extremely proud of the dedication Ashtyn made in preparing for her judge’s interview,” said Abby Ivory, Miss Sanpete pageant director. “She studied up on national politics and economics, gun control, immigration, abortion issues, transgender issues—and that’s just a few.”
Ivory said a Miss Sanpete candidate hasn’t won such an award like this since Kayla Barclay Hall won the Miss Utah title in 2008.

The Miss Sanpete organization was also represented by Hall this year. The Miss Sanpete 2007 and Miss Utah 2008 was a guest emcee for the first night of competition along with Miss Utah 2021, Sasha Sloan.
