The North Sanpete student council kicked off their holiday celebrations by introducing their Make a Wish fundraiser recipient—a five year old boy from Mt. Pleasant named Dax. Students will be raising money during the month of December to help make his wish come true. The North Sanpete High School student council has paired up with the Make a Wish Foundation to help a young boys wish come true this holiday season.

In the past, the council has raised money for the Sub for Santa program; but this year, the student body officers wanted to do something a little more conspicuous and more personal. So, they teamed up with “Make a Wish.”

Dax is a five-year-old boy from Mt. Pleasant who was diagnosed with cancer this past January. Dax loves superheroes, Spider-Man, Legos and chicken nuggets with ketchup.

He hasn’t decided for sure what he wants his wish to be, but he’s thinking hard about the one thing that he wants.

The goal of the student body is to raise $7,000 by Dec. 21. Donation buckets will be placed at businesses throughout the North Sanpete area. There will also be chances to donate during sporting events at the high school.

Something that won’t change is how the money will be raised. Pledges for the faculty at the high school include doing crazy things like eating strange foods, shaving their heads and singing funny songs.
