Pioneer Day in Sanpete county

It was raining as the Centerfield Pioneer Day parade started down Main Street on Friday, July 22, but Miss Gunnison Valley queen Noelle Condie and attendants Adriana Corona and MelLani Jensen carried on. The rain did clear up in time for games at the park and fireworks after dark.
Families and friends set out lawn chairs to enjoy the program and each other’s company at the Axtell community picnic. From left are Stan Jorgensen, grandson Hayden Brooks, Linda Jorgensen and Carolyn Peterson. Hayden drove from Logan, where he recently graduated from Utah State University. He plans to apply for medical school.
The Paul and Donna Penrod family was the winner of the treasure hunt in Spring City. They followed clues all week to find the “treasure,” which was a small painting that had been left in the DUP Museum.
