Sanpete high school students make Academic All-State

The Utah High School Athletic Association has selected 13 Sanpete County students to the Academic All-State Award for fall sports. Manti High School also received two top team Academic All-State recognitions.

Manti High

            Manti High School had a total of six students on the list (Manti’s GPAs were not released):

Girls Tennis

• Emily Allen, daughter of Spencer and Mardee Allen of Manti.

•Shaylynn Noblett, daughter of Billy and Amy Noblett of Ephraim.

Cross Country

•Bethany Christensen, daughter of Alan and Beck Christensen of Manti.

Volleyball

•Cali Alder, daughter of Todd and Cindy Alder of Ephraim.

Girls Soccer

•Breanne Wayman, daughter of Gerald and Shauna Wayman of Ephraim.

Football

•AJ Cox, son of Andy and Robyn Cox of Manti.

            The Templars volleyball team and girls’ soccer team were awarded the top teams in 3A academics. UHSAA combines the JV and Varsity team’s GPA’s along with the teams’ placings to fulfill this recognition. The volleyball team had a combined GPA of 3.95 and the soccer team combined GPA was 3.92.

            The Hawks had a total of five students receiving Academic All-State honors:

Boys Golf

•Carson Hadley, son of Fred and Cheryl Hadley of Mt. Pleasant, with a GPA of 4.0.

•Kason Ericksen, son of Jeff and Annette Ericksen of Fairview with a GPA of 4.0.

Girls Tennis

•Natalya Benson, daughter of Julie Benson and Thomas Benson of Fairview, with a GPA of 4.0.

Cross Country

•Aubry Cook, daughter of Brandon and Lachelle Cook of Fairview, with a GPA of 4.0.

•Rachael Jones, daughter of Bryan and Rebecca Jones of Mt. Pleasant, with a GPA of 4.0.

•Mary Allred, daughter of Diane Allred of Mayfield, with a GPA of 3.970.
