Seven will compete for Miss Gunnison Valley

GUNNISON— Seven local young women will compete for the title of Miss Gunnison Valley 2025 on Saturday, March 29, at the Gunnison Valley High School auditorium. The competition will begin at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6 p.m.

Miss Gunnison Valley 2024, Bethany Jessop, will crown her successor at the close of the evening. Following are the contestants and their talents.

Rebekah Stewart of Centerfield, daughter of Dave and the late Kristin Stewart, is a senior at Gunnison Valley High School and plans to perform a French horn solo to “Romance.”

Kaydence Barclay of Mayfield, a junior at Gunnison Valley High School and daughter of John and Markell Barclay, will sing “Stay” by Rihanna.

Italia Rose Ashton of Gunnison, a senior at Gunnison Valley High School and daughter of Tyler and Adrie Ashton, will perform a vocal solo of the Latin aria “Ave Maria.”

Hailey Murray of Mayfield, a senior at Gunnison Valley High School and daughter of Nate and Dusti Murray, will present a poetic reading titled “HER Story.”

Mary Lyons of Gunnison, also a senior at Gunnison Valley High School and daughter of Mark and Anita Lyons, will sing “The Winner Takes It All.”

Tenley Wanner of Gunnison, a senior at Gunnison Valley High School and daughter of Mike and Mekesha Wanner, will perform a dance solo to “Rainbow.”

Nila Jane Peterson of Gunnison, a junior at North Sanpete High School and daughter of Andrew and Stacey Peterson, will play a violin solo to “Amazing Grace.”

Tickets may be purchased at the door or from any contestant beforehand. Adult admission costs $8, while the cost for children ages 5-12 is $6.
