
Slacks to celebrate golden anniversary Friday, Saturday
Dennis Whitney and Shirley Pope Slack will celebrate 50 years of marriage. They were married in the Logan Temple on March 24, 1967.
Dennis and Shirley met in Cedar City, Utah. After becoming married, they lived in Salina for three years before moving to Mt. Pleasant, where Dennis taught seminary for 35 years. Shirley also taught at North Sanpete High School for nine years.
Since retirement, Dennis and Shirley have enjoyed serving in the Manti Temple as ordinance workers and three years as the first counselor and assistant temple matron in the temple presidency. They also enjoyed their mission to work as ordinance workers in the Nauvoo, Illinois Temple.
They are proud of their eight children, their children’s spouses and their 34 grandchildren. They will celebrate with their family on March 17 and 18.
