Slate Chapman Mickelsen, age 11, died tragically on Aug. 11, 2022, leaving behind his family. He was born Dec. 5, 2010 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Lance C. Mickelsen and Lisa Shawndell Bown Mickelsen.

Slate was looking forward to his first year at Ephraim Middle School. He loved to ride mountain bikes, play soccer, and hone his skills at video games. He valued his time with his cousins and friends.

He was a bright and energetic boy. He loved to learn about life and the things around him. Mature for his age, stub- born, funny and self-confident, he owned who he was. Slate was the sweetest boy who loved to help everyone around him. He always had a smile on his face. He was fearless and loved to try new things. He had such big plans for his future.

He loved spending time with his family and treasured the fun adventures they would go on while camping and hiking. He loved playing basketball with his dad and showing off while riding his bike and popping wheelies. Slate loved his mother so very much and treasured every moment with her; he saw the world in her eyes.

During difficult times, his sister Arizona (Zoe) was there to help him to create happy lasting memories. They depended on each other and just loved hanging out together.

Slate is survived by his parents Lance (Barb Hart) and Lisa (David Hatch); his siblings Alex Mickelsen, Starla (Jeremy) Wilford, Candice (Robert) Shelley, Holly (Zach) Tuttle, Dominique Bown, Dan- ny George, Arizona (Kaden) Hazel.

Graveside services were held Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti. Online guestbook at www. maglebymortuary.com.
