Thomas G. Christensen, 84 of Fairview, Utah, passed away July 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. Born Nov. 10, 1932 to Thomas Reese and Alta Maurine Hansen Christensen in Richfield, Utah. Married Jane Lou Kerr, later divorced; married Gaye Larsen Giles.

Tom worked for Mountain Fuel “Questar Gas” for 36 years and retired as a general foreman in 1991. His family was the love of his life, golf came in as a close second. He was an active member of LDS church and served with his wife Gaye at the Manti Temple.

Tom had a passion for flying and had his pilot’s license for many years.  For the last 17 years he has looked forward to his morning Pepsi with his good friends Schooney and Fenton. Tom was a star athlete in high school. He excelled in football, baseball and basketball and was honored as “Sophomore  Athlete of The Year” and served as student body officer at South High School.

The family would like to express a special thanks to hospice nurse, Kayln Bench, for her loving and comforting care.

Tom is survived by his wife Gaye Christensen, Fairview; children, Tom (Kristin) Christensen Jr. Fairview; Sherry Frick, St. George; Tren (Pam) Giles, Draper; Tangie (Gary) Schatz, Palmdale, California; daughter-in-law Debbie Christensen, Sandy; sister Maurine (Kent) Dahlberg, Salt Lake City; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the Fairview 2nd Ward Chapel (131 E 100 N). Viewings will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30- 10:30 a.m. both at the church. Interment in the Fairview City Cemetery. Online condolences rasmussenmortuary.com.
