Utah legislators all vote ‘Nay’ on American Rescue Plan

I enjoyed reading the article about the American Rescue Plan Act and the resultant significant investment in Sanpete County.  There has been a lot of talk about supporting rural Utah, and this is actually doing something about it.

However, I would have liked to have seen some coverage of how our Utah elected representatives in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate could be showcased in their support for this effort.  Oh, but wait, they all voted “Nay.”  Their no votes may have been due to other aspects of this massive bill that they couldn’t support.  I get that, to a point.

The fact is that all of the Aye votes in support of the American Rescue Plan Act came from outside of Utah. Even though there were no Utah votes in support, it’s still a good thing to see these significant investments in rural counties like Sanpete.

Now that the money is showing up, I wonder if our Utah delegation in Washington D.C. will figure out a way to take some credit. Nay.
