                Von Orson Christiansen, 86, passed away Aug. 8, 2021 in Sterling, Virginia.

                He was born Nov. 2, 1934 in Mayfield to Lloyd and Audrey Christiansen. He married Karen Olson on Sept. 12, 1961 in Seattle, Washington. She preceded him in death on May 4, 2015.
                Von was a commander in the U.S. Navy and served overseas in the Vietnam War. Upon retiring from the Navy, Von continued to work as a civil engineer for TRW, now Northrop Grumman.
Von loved music, and opera especially was very dear to his heart.  Von was also an avid reader, a regular golfer and he loved hunting.
                Von is survived by his daughter, Kirsten Shehee; grandchildren, Jimmy and Melinda; and brother and sister, Clair John Christiansen and Paula Christiansen Riddle. Also preceded in death by his parents and his son, Eric James Christiansen.
                Cremation services have been held. Memorial graveside services will take place on Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021 at 1 p.m. in the Manti City Cemetery with military rites by the Manti American Legion Post #31 and the Navy Honor Guard.
