Why are the roads of Mt. Pleasant coated in snow one week later?

As citizens of Mount Pleasant, as well as the surrounding areas are aware, we received a large amount of snowfall within the last week. Some areas had over two feet of snow. While this snowfall was much appreciated, we the citizens of Mount Pleasant are concerned about the current state of the city’s roads after receiving this great amount of snowfall.

The holiday season was in full swing when the snow fell, and it was not much of a problem then. Now that school and work have resumed for most people, the icy, snow-covered roads are creating a hazardous situation for citizens.

Not only are the side roads still covered in snow, but the main roads through Mount Pleasant are as well. This has also become a problem for the students, faculty, and parents of the schools, especially with having two schools within the same block.

The people of Mount Pleasant are concerned. Many have become stuck and have had to rely on others to help push them out. Some have slid off the roads due to the conditions. We as the citizens of this town recognize the hard work involved in snow removal, but also ask that additional attention be spent on clearing the roads to ensure the safety of our townspeople.
