Arnold Harold Mellor

                Arnold Harold Mellor, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in Salem, Utah, following a short hospitalization.
                Arnold was born Nov. 5, 1935, in Fayette, Utah, to Fred and Isola Mellor. He attended
school in Gunnison and later attended Southern Utah University and Brigham Young University, where he completed the ROTC program, earned a degree in marketing, and received his pilot’s license.
                Arnold proudly served as a pilot in the United States Air Force, flying B-47 bombers during active duty and later C-124 cargo planes in the Air Force Reserve during the Vietnam War. He achieved the rank of Major before his discharge.
                He married Anna Marie Talbot, the love of his life, and they were sealed in the St. George Utah Temple on Sept. 14, 1957. Together they raised five children and devoted their lives to faith, family, and service. Arnold faithfully served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and, together with Anna, served missions in Minnesota and at Martin’s Cove in Wyoming, as well as at the Provo MTC and in the Provo and Payson Temples.
                Arnold worked in a variety of occupations throughout his life, including Geneva Steel, real estate, and more than 20 years with the United States Postal Service.
                He was known for his humor, storytelling, distinctive laugh, love of aviation, and deep devotion to his family. He especially loved spending time deer hunting in southern Utah with family and friends.
                Arnold is survived by his children: Brad (Tara) Mellor, Mike (Tiffany) Mellor, Marie (Brady) Prothero, Jim Mellor, and Richard Mellor; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren, with one more expected soon; one great-great-grandchild; and his sister, Arva Mellor Silver (Ron). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna; his parents; his siblings Lester, Roy, Rita, Curtis, and Gaylen; and two granddaughters.
                Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11 a.m. at the Lake Shore Chapel. Viewings will be held Tuesday from 6–8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary in Spanish Fork and Wednesday from 9:30–10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will take place at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery with full military honors.
