Snow College softball will get an early measuring stick this week.

The Badgers travel to Florida for the Northwest Florida State Invitational, where they will face the defending NJCAA national champions and current No. 1 team in the country, Northwest Florida State College, three times during the three-day event.

Snow College opens tournament play Thursday at 12 p.m. against the host Raiders. The Badgers will also face NFSC twice more during the event. They are scheduled to take on Louisburg College on Friday at 3 p.m., before closing the invitational with a doubleheader against Gulf Coast State College on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

The trip comes on the heels of a strong opening weekend at the College of Southern Nevada Coyote Classic. Snow picked up three wins to begin the 2026 season, defeating CSN 9-5, Central Arizona 13-7 and Yavapai 11-0.

Gigi Hall powered the Badgers at the plate in Nevada. Over five games, Hall went 14-for-17 for a .824 batting average with two home runs, three doubles, a triple and seven RBIs. She scored 10 runs and stole five bases, earning Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors.

As a team, Snow hit .404 during the Coyote Classic, launched eight home runs and scored 40 runs across five games while posting a 1.076 OPS.

The challenge stiffens in Florida.

Northwest Florida State enters the invitational with a 19-1 record. The Raiders finished 61-4 last season and went 20-0 in Florida College System Activities Association play on their way to a national championship. Snow College has never faced NFSC.

Louisburg College has yet to play a game in 2026. The Hurricanes went 51-9 last season and won the NJCAA Division II Region 10 Tournament before falling in the Atlantic District Tournament.

Gulf Coast State College is 15-5 to start the season. The Commodores went 28-25 last year and 9-11 in FCSAA play, entering the conference tournament as the No. 8 seed.

After Florida, Snow will wrap up non-conference play at the Lander Jamboree hosted by McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, beginning Feb. 26.

For now, the Badgers head east with momentum and an offense that has already shown it can put up runs in bunches. This week will show how that production stacks up against the top team in the nation.
