The Snow College Badgers took the second longest winning streak in the Scenic West Athletic Conference on the road and picked up an 89-66 win over the Spartans of Colorado Northwestern.

The Badgers jumped out to an 11-point halftime lead and then extended the lead in the second half with six players scoring in double figures.

Wyatt Lowell finished with 16 points and Hagen Wright had 15, with Clayton Southwick adding 13 points and eight rebounds. Ben Tew came off the bench to score 12 points and pull down six rebounds. Chase Potter tossed in eleven points and Drake Allen had ten points and five assists.

“We moved the ball well, and we shot the ball much better in the second half,” said Head Coach Rob Nielson. “The first half was a little shaky, but we got into a good flow in the second half and played better defense.”

Snow College used the momentum from Thursday’s win to jump out to an early lead in the first half against number one Salt Lake Community College, but the Bruins battled back to make it a one-point game at the half and then moved ahead of Snow early in the second half on their way to a 99-94 win over the Badgers.

“We started well,” said Nielson. “We knew we had to play well right from the start, and I think we had some good energy, but we made a few too many mistakes to let them back into the game.”

The Badgers outshot the Bruins in the first half 53-41 percent, with Southwick stepping outside and hitting three big three-pointers to start the game. Hagen Wright came on strong in the second half to lead Snow College with 22 points and nine rebounds. Drake Allen had 21 points, Southwick finished with 18 on 4-7 from behind the arc, and Chase Potter had 17 for the Badgers.

“We’ve gotten better each time we’ve faced Salt Lake,” said Nielson. “Hopefully we can win out and have another shot at them in the Region XVIII Tournament.”

Snow College will finish with three games in three days on the road. On Thursday the Badgers will face the Coyotes of the College of Southern Nevada, and then Friday and Saturday they will finish the regular season with back-to-back games against SWAC newcomer Community Christian College.

All three games will be carried by KMTI-AM 650 with the Region Tournament the following week, also on KMTI.
