MANTI—The Gunnison Bulldog volleyball team traveled to Manti last Wednesday, Oct. 19 for the final game of the year for both teams.

Although the Bulldogs won the matches 3-0, the games were close the entire way and kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.

In the first game of the night, Manti got the first score and held that lead until the Bulldogs tied it up at six each. From that point on there were four ties and three lead changes. Gunnison pulled away at the finish to win the first match, 25-22.

Game two was more of the same. Again Manti scored first, but the Bulldogs tied it up at 1-1. This game saw seven ties and five lead shifts, but Gunnison went on a 7-0 run to finish the game 25-14.

The final game saw the Bulldogs take the lead and hold it until Manti went on a 9-1 run, tied the score at 8-8, and then went ahead by four.

Gunnison kept the game close, tied it at 19-19 and from that point on it was a dogfight.    With the crowd on their feet, the remainder of the game saw seven ties and five lead changes. Gunnison finally ended the volleyball season for both teams with a 28-26 win.
